The PEAS (Partners for Education, Agriculture and Sustainability) program partners with elementary schools to provide hands-on outdoor learning and edible education. Currently at St. Elmo Elementary school, PEAS works with Kindergarten, first grade, and second grade classrooms.
What the Program Offers
- Outdoor & Edible Lessons: Trained specialists work with teachers to deliver standards-aligned lessons in science, math, health, and nutrition.
- Social Emotional Learning (SEL): Activities integrate mindfulness and nature-based SEL.
- Gardening & Cooking: Students get direct experience planting, growing food, and cooking.
- Teacher Support: Educators get access to TEKS-aligned outdoor activity libraries and training workshops.
